Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking a skilled Machinist for an on-site role in Greenwood, IN. You will be responsible for receiving, repairing, testing, and packaging units, using drawings and blueprints to guide estimates and operations. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and cost control within a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications include a Machinist Certification and a high school diploma with 2-3 years in a machine shop. Proficiency with forklifts, cranes, and balance equipment is a plus.

Qualifications

• Machinist Certification and HS diploma with related experience.
• 2-3 years in a machine shop/manual repair environment is preferred.
• Experience operating forklift trucks, hand pallet jacks, and overhead cranes.
• Reading blueprints/drawings and following detailed repair procedures.
• Adherence to safety and 5S guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment receipt, uncrate, clean, strip, and tear down units.
• Inspect, repair, service, test, and package per company quality standards.
• Estimate repair costs/time/materials using drawings/blueprints.
• Repair products per the quality plan.
• Diagnose and adjust mechanical functions using appropriate tools.
• Set up and balance rotating equipment with approved methods.
• Record test results and document shipments.
• Move materials within shop using forklifts/cranes.
• Request replenishment of supplies and tools as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized work area following 5S.
