Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Project Engineer to lead complex, multi-discipline generation projects from concept through construction and commissioning. You will coordinate internal engineering teams, external consultants, OEMs and EPC contractors to ensure safe, reliable, and cost‑effective delivery of utility-scale assets.

This role is onsite in Tulsa, Oklahoma with travel as needed. The Senior/Principal tracks offer strong career growth with salary ranges shown, and ABET

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program
• PE license encouraged and preferred
• Travel 25% outside of Ohio during construction

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Engineering Work Plan.
• Lead the Engineering Design Review process and respond to RFIs.
• Coordinate design efforts with internal teams and external partners.
• Provide support during construction and facilitate project closeout activities.
• Provide regular updates on engineering progress to the project team and stakeholders.
• Travel to AEP generation facilities as needed.
