Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration hires a Staff Systems Engineer (Lead) to guide a regional SE team and drive MBSE, requirements, and architecture for the C2BMC program in Colorado Springs or Huntsville. On‑site work with no remote option is required.

The role emphasizes decomposing operational needs into traceable requirements, leading technical reviews, and collaborating with government and industry partners to deliver critical missile defense capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, etc.) with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s with 10+ years; or PhD with 8+ years.
Active Government-Issued 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher required at start (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND).
Active Secret security clearance at time of application required to start.
Extensive MBSE background with hands-on model-based systems engineering (SysML/UML) and requirement decomposition in defense domains.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a regional SE team (~30 engineers) while performing core engineering tasks.
Set technical priorities, conduct rigorous reviews, and ensure high-quality engineering products.
Remain hands-on producing and reviewing requirements, architecture views, and interface docs.
Collaborate with government and industry partners in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Translate analyses into clear recommendations for senior leaders and operators.
