Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Staff Systems Engineer to join our team supporting SDS and Special Programs & Futures. This role involves guiding requirements, architecture, MBSE, and verification across cruise missile subsystems.

The position requires a STEM degree and 12+ years of experience, US Citizenship with a Secret clearance, and travel up to 10%. A strong benefits package and a 9/80 work schedule are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in STEM with 12 years of relevant experience; or advanced degrees with fewer years.
• Must be a US Citizen with an active US Government Secret Clearance; Top Secret/SAP eligibility desired.
• Experience on a Systems Engineering team performing architecture development, requirements, interfaces, and integration.
• Ability to guide multidisciplinary teams on complex, innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support across the development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, interfaces, verification).
• Decompose requirements into hardware/software specs with end-to-end traceability.
• Develop CONOPS and architectural artifacts using MBSE tools and best practices.
• Lead or support hardware-in-the-loop, flight test planning, and verification activities.
• Produce key SE deliverables: design reviews, ICDs, trade studies, and baselines.
