Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations for a large fleet of heavy equipment in Welkom, Free State. You will lead a team of skilled mechanics and technicians, manage maintenance schedules, and drive uptime across bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and other critical machinery.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent experience in heavy equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of heavy equipment mechanics and technicians.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs for all heavy machinery.
• Oversee diagnosis, repair, and servicing of excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and graders.
• Ensure maintenance activities meet safety policies and industry standards.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ordering, receiving, and stock control.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, service histories, and cost tracking.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues and provide guidance.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and optimize performance.
• Coordinate with site managers to schedule maintenance and address issues promptly.
• Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement in the team.
