Job summary

Landscaping by J. Michael is seeking an experienced Landscape / Construction Estimator to join our Eastern Massachusetts team.

This on-site role centers on turning plans into accurate, competitive bids for landscape construction, site work, and related projects. You’ll review plans and specs, perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost breakdowns, and present estimates to internal teams and clients, collaborating with landscape architects, contractors, and subcontractors to refine pricing and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in landscape construction or site work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Strong proficiency with CAD and other construction software.
• Experience using Bluebeam and RSMeans or similar estimating tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and technical documents.
• Familiarity with codes, regulations, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Identify bidding opportunities to support company growth.
• Review plans, drawings, and specs to develop quantity take-offs and estimates.
• Prepare clear project cost breakdowns and present to teams and clients.
• Explain estimates and scope to clients and answer pricing questions.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and subcontractors to refine pricing.
• Track costs vs. estimates to improve accuracy and bid quality.
• Help improve estimating processes using historical data.
• Support related tasks as needed.
