Job summary

Howard University Hospital is seeking an LAN Technician I to serve as the on-site face of Information Technology for clinicians and staff. You will install, configure, diagnose, repair, and upgrade computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and clinical equipment daily.

You will handle Tier II escalations, manage access requests, and provide hands-on support for basic network and server hardware in a fast-paced clinical environment that prioritizes patient care and security.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of computer hardware and peripherals.
• Knowledge of Android and Apple technologies.
• Familiarity with information systems and enterprise software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site contact for requests, incidents, and access support.
• Provide face-to-face technical support, training, and instruction.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and administer compute environment devices.
• Support endpoint devices including laptops, tablets, desktops, and clinical devices.
• Conduct site surveys and document current equipment and user needs.
• Manage access provisioning and troubleshoot access issues.
• Troubleshoot in person, by phone, or email with timely user assistance.
• Support project-based device refresh and deployments.
• Document work and report status to management and clients.
