Job summary

Howard University Hospital is seeking a LAN Technician I to act as the on-site IT face for clinicians, staff, and care teams. You will install, configure, diagnose, repair, and upgrade computers and clinical devices while handling Tier II escalations and access requests.

Responsibilities include direct customer interactions, asset management, and adherence to change and release processes. The role supports patient care in a nationally recognized academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals.
• Understanding of computer systems characteristics and integration capabilities.
• Knowledge of Android and Apple technologies.
• Solid understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Effective communicator with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site point of contact for requests, incidents, and access-related support.
• Interact with customers to provide face-to-face technical support and training.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and administer compute environments and devices.
• Support endpoint devices including laptops, tablets, desktops, and clinical devices.
• Conduct site surveys and document equipment, configurations, and user requirements.
• Manage access provisioning and troubleshoot access-related issues.
