Job summary

Mayo Clinic Laboratories is seeking an on-site Laboratory Send-Out Coordinator at a client facility. You will manage referral send-out work, verify and process specimens, and coordinate with client lab staff to ensure timely submissions.

You will handle LIS-related tasks, quality metrics, and inventory while maintaining strong stakeholder communication and adherence to contracts. Two years in the role may be required to advance within Mayo Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Manage the client’s referral send-out work coming to Mayo Clinic Laboratories (MCL) as directed by client management and governed by a client’s business contract.
• Provide onsite customer service and be a resource to a client’s clinical laboratory staff.
• Manage the biological specimens (e.g., blood, urine) receipt, verification, handling, aliquoting, processing and shipping if applicable, ordering, and specimen resolution.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and monitor assigned reports; partner with clients to resolve issues related to specimen submissions.
• Duties may include pending lists, billing charges, LIS test builds, Joint Test Catalog maintenance, quality metrics and training of send-out staff, and maintaining MCS supply inventory.
