Job summary

Alpha seeks a Counselor to join our on-site team in Austin, TX, leading weekly life-skills workshops for K-8 students and coaching them to hit goals using Coachbot analytics and our incentive system.

You will administer mastery assessments, adapt sessions for different ages, and serve as the trusted adult upholding high standards. This is a full-time, in-person role with relocation support and national campus expansion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any subject.
• At least 3 years working directly with K-8 students in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or similar roles.
• Comfort using adaptive learning software while coaching life skills.
• A record of high achievement in academics, athletics, or work.
• Strong stage presence with groups of 12-year-olds.
• Legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 students on public speaking, focus, and feedback.
• Conduct daily 1:1 and small-group motivation sessions using analytics and incentives.
• Administer the Test2Pass mastery assessment and re-coach until mastery is achieved.
• Adapt workshop playbooks to land material across ages from kindergartner to 8th grade.
• Be the reliable adult who upholds high standards and is a trusted student advisor.
