Job summary

Hollingshead Mixer Company seeks an IT Systems Administrator to serve as the primary on-site technology resource in Avilla, Indiana. You will provide daily support for office and manufacturing operations, manage devices, user accounts, and local infrastructure, and coordinate with SRM IT for complex issues.

The role requires proactive problem-solving, strong troubleshooting, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in systems administration, desktop support, network support, or a related IT role.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows computers, common business applications, hardware, and peripherals.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, user permissions, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Understanding of TCP/IP, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, VPNs, cabling standards, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with virtualization, backups, patch management, remote administration, and security practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and resolve issues with limited day-to-day supervision.
• High dependability, consistent attendance, and reliable follow-through on commitments.
• A self-starter who identifies needs and acts without waiting for detailed direction.
• Strong diagnostic skills and judgment about when to involve engineering teams, security personnel, or vendors.
• Clear communication, thorough documentation, and a patient, customer-focused approach.
• Ability to maintain ownership of an issue after escalation and keep affected employees informed.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive daily support for HMC’s office and manufacturing operations, prioritizing issues that affect production and employee productivity.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, printers, monitors, mobile devices, peripherals, operating systems, and business software.
• Support employee onboarding, role changes, and offboarding through equipment provisioning, account administration, group assignments, and access changes.
• Administer assigned Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP functions using established procedures.
• Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity, VPN access, IP addressing, and local network equipment.
• Perform routine server, workstation, and infrastructure administration, including monitoring, patching, updates, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor backup status, address failures, and assist with recovery and testing in coordination with SRM’s systems engineering team.
• Support business applications and coordinate with vendors and internal specialists when additional expertise is required.
• Use approved tools to manage workstations, servers, peripherals, and networks locally and remotely.
• Follow company security standards for endpoint protection, authentication, permissions, and system configuration; promptly elevate security concerns.
• Maintain accurate support records, equipment inventories, configurations, and operating procedures.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements.
• Coordinate with SRM’s engineering teams on infrastructure changes, complex incidents, equipment replacements, and projects; provide local implementation assistance.
• Extend support to other SRM employees, locations, and systems as assigned while maintaining dependable HMC coverage.
• Participate in the IT on-call rotation, occasional Saturday support, and scheduled weekend maintenance.
