Job summary

Farm Family seeks a Litigation Specialist to join our Omaha office. The role focuses on managing litigated claims, directing defense counsel, and driving favorable outcomes across personal and commercial lines.

The position is 100% in-office, requiring strong analysis, negotiation, and client service skills. You will work closely with insureds, brokers, and attorneys to coordinate litigation strategy, assess exposure, and ensure timely and accurate reserves while advancing profit goals for the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 2 years’ bodily injury experience in determining liability, negotiating settlements, reviewing estimates, and medical terminology.
• Must be able to obtain necessary state licenses and maintain Continuing Education requirements.
• Must have good business acumen and understanding of how an insurer works and profits.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate claims under supervision, reviewing coverage and strategy for each file.
• Coordinate litigation plan with defense counsel for cost-effective defense and insured interest.
• Conduct in-depth investigations and reviews of initial filings, including interviewing involved parties.
• Manage diary and timely tasks to move cases toward favorable financial outcomes.
• Attend depositions, mediations, trials, and settlements as required and may involve travel.
• Communicate with insureds, claimants, brokers, and attorneys to provide updates and maintain relationships.
