Job summary

EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Industrial Buyer to support our active construction project on-site. The role focuses on procuring materials, equipment, tools, and supplies to meet project schedules and field operations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in industrial construction procurement and strong vendor management, negotiation, and coordination with project teams and material control personnel to ensure timely, cost-effective purchases.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in industrial construction.
Experience reading material requisitions, BOMs, and technical specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Experience using purchasing, procurement, or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Viewpoint).
Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple requests.

Responsibilities

Procure materials, equipment, tools, and supplies for industrial construction activities.
Review requisitions, obtain quotations, prepare purchase orders, and track orders.
Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, field staff, and material control to identify needs.
Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and delivery schedules.
Monitor open POs, expedite critical materials, resolve delays or discrepancies.
Ensure materials meet project specs and quality requirements, maintain records.
