Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Service Technician for a role in Junction City, KS. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and commissioning of building control systems and serve as a trusted advisor to customers on-site.

You will mentor junior technicians, prepare field documentation, and collaborate with project teams to propose upgrades and ensure safety and system efficiency. A technical background and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years Commercial Controls troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Vocational School program graduate or an associate's degree in a technical field, or two years’ experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and related subsystems.
• Must be able to pass a federal background check and have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to explain technical information to customers and work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning and servicing of building control systems.
• Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions across multiple software languages.
• Mentor and train junior technicians on building automation activities.
• Provide field proposals for retrofits and upgrades and assist sales with technical recommendations.
• Ensure safety standards and complete project documentation on site.
