Job summary

Meijer is seeking an HR Generalist to provide staffing, onboarding and employee relations support at the Lansing Distribution Complex. You will partner with hiring managers to fill roles, manage job profiles, and coordinate interviews and job fairs.

The role emphasizes compliance with EEO and ADA, coaching managers, and tracking metrics on recruiting, onboarding and turnover while supporting the HR team with special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• PHR or SPHR certification desirable.
• 3–5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience in a support role.
• Experience in a union environment preferred.
• Experience in staffing and leadership recruiting practices.
• Experience with technology solutions.
• Excellent interviewing skills and strong business acumen.
• Strong relationship and communication skills; ability to organize multiple demands.
• Knowledge of state and federal employment laws; proficient with MS Office and Workday.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, interviewing and screening hourly and salaried candidates.
• Meet with hiring managers to understand objectives and candidate requirements.
• Manage job profile creation and updates in the job library.
• Coordinate interviews with community resources and colleges.
• Attend job fairs and hiring events; support onboarding.
• Track pre-employment screenings and maintain HR documentation.
• Develop metrics for recruiting, onboarding and turnover; monitor headcount.
• Provide HR support to business leaders and assist with special projects.
