Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to provide on-site HR support for our Lansing Distribution Complex. The role focuses on staffing, onboarding, retention and employee relations across manufacturing and distribution facilities, with emphasis on recruiting and interviewing hourly and salaried candidates.

You will partner with hiring managers to define requirements, manage profiles, coordinate interviews, ensure compliance with EEO/ADA, and monitor onboarding metrics while supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
• PHR or SPHR certification desirable.
• 3 to 5 years of HR Generalist experience in a support role.
• Experience in a Union environment is preferred.
• Experience in staffing and leadership recruiting practices.
• Proficient with technology solutions and HR systems.

Responsibilities

• Primarily focus on Recruiting, Interviewing and Screening hourly and salaried candidates.
• Meet with hiring managers to understand objectives and candidate requirements.
• Manage job profile creation and updates into the job library.
• Coordinate interviews with job counselors, colleges and agencies.
• Attend job fairs and other hiring events.
• Ensure Recruiting and Onboarding Compliance with EEO/ADA laws.
• Initiate and track pre-employment screening and background checks.
• Develop and monitor metrics for recruiting, onboarding and turnover.
• Monitor headcount and staffing numbers.
