Kimley-Horn in Austin, TX is seeking an HR Business Partner to join the North Austin office. This is a non-remote, on-site role within the HR team. The position covers employee relations, benefits questions, training, and regional projects.

15+ years? Wait, 6+ years of HR experience with strong skills in labor law and HRIS are preferred; travel ~20% is required, with occasional overnight stays. A PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in HR with employee relations experience.
• Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in Human Resources or related field.
• Day travel ~20% of the time; occasional overnight travel.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment law.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/ SCP strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Propose solutions and engage partners in retention, employee relations, performance management, terminations, teambuilding, conflicts, and career development.
• Conduct new hire orientations and lead integration planning for new hires at all levels.
• Serve as benefits point-of-contact and educate employees on programs.
• Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA and workers’ compensation.
• Develop and facilitate multiple training programs.
• Manage region-wide and company-wide special projects.
