Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking an HR Business Partner to join our Oklahoma City, OK office. This is an in-office role within the HR team, with travel to support regional needs as required. The candidate will advise on employee relations, benefits, performance management, and staff development.

The role emphasizes partnership across the region, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple HR initiatives in a dynamic environment. PHR/SPHR or SHRM credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience including employee relations
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or related field
• Day travel is required to support the needs of the region, approximately 50%; overnight travel required occasionally
• Knowledge of federal and state labor and employment law
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and HRIS systems
• Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, presentation, and relationship building
• Excellent organization and follow-through skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited daily supervision
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Propose solutions and engage partners in retention, employee relations, performance management, terminations, teambuilding, conflict resolution, and career development
• Conduct new hire orientations and lead integration planning for new hires at all levels
• Serve as benefits point-of-contact by responding to questions and educating employees on company benefit programs
• Manage leaves of absence, including FMLA and workers’ compensation
• Develop and facilitate multiple training programs
• Manage regional- or company-wide special projects
