Job summary

CMI Group Aerospace & Defense is seeking an HR Administrator for our Tempe fabrication facility. On-site role focusing on onboarding, offboarding, interviews, background checks, and employee records, with strong emphasis on ITAR compliance and confidentiality.

You will support performance reviews, employee engagement initiatives, and inquiries from staff while adhering to federal, state, and local employment laws. Team-oriented environment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of administrative HR experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.
• U.S. Person per ITAR requirements.
• Knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
• Administer onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation and exit interviews
• Screen applicants and schedule interviews
• Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
• Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations under guidance of HR leadership
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
• Handle employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director
• Assist with coordination of performance review cycles and employee engagement programs
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including ITAR and other compliance regulations
