Job summary

Base-2 Solutions, LLC. in Bethesda, MD, seeks a mid-career Systems Engineer specializing in HPC and GPU infrastructure to design, develop, and optimize GPU clusters for Intelligence Community customers.

This 100% on-site role at the customer site requires Linux expertise, scripting, and strong collaboration. US citizenship and DoD 8570 IAT Level II/III certifications (or equivalents) and a TS/SCI clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/EE with 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
• US Citizenship is required.
• DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II or higher certification with CE certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP) required or acceptable Level III certification.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain on-premises and cloud-based GPU and HPC hardware, assessing performance.
• Analyze HPC and GPU cluster performance and identify bottlenecks; optimize Linux-based workloads.
• Install and configure workload-management platforms (Slurm, PBS, Apache Airflow, Kubernetes).
• Apply power-management techniques to optimize GPU power consumption.
• Design and execute Linux-based GPU performance tests and maintain the test suite.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and best practices for GPU development.
• Monitor trends and research GPU technologies; propose Linux-based optimization approaches.
• Share regular technical updates with the team.
