Job summary

Building Ventures in South Boston, VA seeks experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our grading and site development team. You will operate dozers and excavators, perform daily inspections and basic maintenance, and support crews to keep projects on schedule in a hands-on, full-time role.

Minimum 2 years on heavy civil projects, ability to read grade stakes and site plans, strong safety habits, and reliable transportation to the jobsite are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience operating dozers and/or excavators on heavy civil projects.
• Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance and basic repairs.
• Comfort reading grade stakes and site plans; follow grade instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate dozers and excavators safely and efficiently on grading and site-development projects.
• Perform daily inspections, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support crew with manual labor tasks as needed.
• Report equipment issues and follow foreman directions.
