Job summary

Froedtert Health is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to provide clerical and system coordination for inpatient care areas. You will support nursing unit communication with physicians, staff, patients, and families, and manage the desk area to facilitate technology use.

The role requires strong telephone etiquette, customer service, and analytical skills. A high school diploma is preferred, with HUC training and medical terminology knowledge valued.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months experience as a Health Unit Coordinator is preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge required or must satisfactorily complete course within first 6 months of employment.
• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Completion of formal Health Unit Coordinator training program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and system coordination for inpatient care areas.
• Coordinates nursing unit communication with physicians, nursing staff, and families.
• Manages the desk area of the inpatient unit and facilitates use of technology.
• Coordinates downtime procedures and supports patient care activities.
