Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. is seeking a field service technician to service generator sets at customer sites, plan travel with the Service Manager, and perform preventive maintenance. You will diagnose issues, replace parts, and support billing with accurate reporting.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to stay overnight or be on-call as needed. On-site travel is expected across locations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old to be DOT certified.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines; electrical knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consult with Service Manager to plan work and travel, prioritizing customer needs.
• Provide tools/parts and arrange for on-site repair at customer premises.
• Report to Service Manager with customer details, machine, billing data.
• Perform preventive maintenance on generator sets: fluids, belts, inspections.
• Test load banks and automatic transfer switches.
• File inspections paperwork and checklists.
• Maintain neat appearance and keep service truck orderly.
