The role develops LCOE benchmarking models and cost intelligence that inform hyperscale campus siting, utility engagement, power / natural gas procurement strategies, and long‑term capital planning.

Market Research & Data Collection
  • Collect pricing, performance, and technical data for generation and energy infrastructure equipment, including turbines, engines, generators, fuel cells, storage systems, balance‑of‑plant and related maintenance costs into a Total Cost to Own (TCO) view.
  • Track OEM pricing updates, supply‑chain conditions, commodity drivers, manufacturing cycle/slots, and technology developments relevant to hyperscale datacenter deployments.
  • Source data from supplier quotes, RFQs/RFPs, EPC proposals, public disclosures, industry reports, and QTS historical project data.
Benchmarking & Cost Analysis
  • Build and maintain cost benchmarks across generation technologies (gas, solar, storage, diesel) used to support energy decisions.
  • Analyze cost variation by size, configuration, region, interconnection scope, vendor, and procurement strategy.
  • Normalize cost data for comparison across geographies, vintages, and project structures.
  • Support LCOE, capex/opex modeling, and long‑term cost forecasts aligned with QTS load growth and campus development timelines.
Forward Commodity Market Analysis
  • Monitor forward markets for key model inputs including natural gas and power.
  • Analyze forward curves, volatility, and basis impacts on generation economics and delivered power costs.
  • Translate commodity outlooks into escalation assumptions, sensitivities, and procurement timing insights.
  • Integrate commodity market signals into energy strategy models and capital planning tools.
Data Management & Automation
  • Maintain structured databases of vendor pricing, capital cost benchmarks, and procurement history.
  • Ensure data quality through validation, normalization, and version control.
  • Develop dashboards and automated refresh processes to support recurring energy strategy models.
Stakeholder & Commercial Support
  • Partner with Energy Strategy, Utility Engagement, Procurement, Finance, and Development teams to validate assumptions and align inputs.
  • Support supplier negotiations with cost curves, benchmarks, and market‑based pricing analysis.
  • Prepare concise executive materials summarizing pricing trends, risks, and cost outlooks.
Reporting & Deliverables
  • Produce recurring OSG transaction analyses, benchmarking reports and cost indices used in energy strategy, site diligence, and procurement decisions.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to inform sourcing strategy, contract structures, and timing.
  • Develop clear visualizations for use in planning, forecasting, and executive presentations.
Basic Qualifications
