QTS Data Centers in Duluth, GA, seeks an Energy Strategy Operations Manager to partner with the Director to govern energy data, validate cross‑functional inputs, and deliver executive reporting. The role focuses on power availability, load growth, interconnection status, and cost management across a rapidly scaling portfolio.

You will operationalize energy strategy through dashboards, scenario planning, and KPI tracking, while guiding governance and analytics capabilities across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field with 8+ years of experience or a Master’s with 5+ years in energy, strategy, analytics, or business operations.
• Hands‑on experience owning datasets, dashboards, and executive reporting.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint with strong analytical and modeling skills.
• Ability to coordinate and influence cross‑functional stakeholders and produce executive materials.

Responsibilities

• Own energy data definitions, standards, and controls for capacity, interconnection milestones, load forecasts, and costs.
• Validate inputs from Energy, Development, Operations, and Finance and surface delivery risks early.
• Operationalize strategy with dashboards and reporting tracking power availability, demand, sequencing, and risks.
• Drive scenario analysis for load growth, market expansion, and policy changes; provide decision‑ready insights.
• Establish governance processes, guide analysts, and perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Director, this role owns and governs assigned energy datasets, leads cross‑functional validation of energy inputs, and produces the executive‑, board‑, and Blackstone‑ready reporting and scenario analysis that inform growth, development sequencing, customer commitments, and capital allocation in a rapidly scaling environment.

Energy Data Ownership & Governance

• Own enterprise definitions, standards, and controls for assigned energy- and power-related data — utility capacity, interconnection milestones, load forecasts, energy costs, contracts, constraints, and risks.
• Help maintain the single source of truth for energy metrics used in executive, board, and Blackstone reporting.

Cross-Functional Energy Operations Review

• Review and validate energy inputs from Energy, Development, Operations, and Finance, ensuring site-level realities align with enterprise planning assumptions.
• Surface delivery risks, timing mismatches, and tradeoffs early to the Director.

Energy Strategy Execution & Reporting

• Operationalize the strategy through clear metrics, dashboards, and reporting that track power availability versus demand, development sequencing, and execution risk.
• Produce and own assigned energy‑related executive, board, and Blackstone materials.

Forward‑Looking Scenario & Capacity Planning

• Drive scenario analysis around load growth, market expansion, utility timelines, alternative energy solutions, and policy changes.
• Provide leadership with decision‑ready tradeoffs and risk assessments that inform development sequencing, customer commitments, and capital allocation.

Governance & Capability Building

• Establish and improve repeatable governance and review processes that reduce late‑stage surprises and ad‑hoc data reconciliation; guide analysts and raise the quality bar.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need to Be Successful: (Required Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics or a field related with 8+ years of experience or a Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) with 5+ years of relevant experience in energy/utilities, strategy, analytics, or business operations.
• Hands‑on experience owning datasets, dashboards, and executive / investor reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical and modeling skills.
• Proven ability to coordinate and influence cross‑functional stakeholders and produce executive‑ready materials.

Nice to Have: (Preferred Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications)

• Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) is preferred.
• Working knowledge of power markets, utility interconnection, load forecasting, energy costs, or generation / infrastructure technologies.
• Power BI or similar BI / visualization tools; experience with structured data governance and management.
• Program/portfolio management or data‑governance experience.
• Experience in energy, utilities, power, infrastructure, or large‑scale data center / service‑provider environments; strategy & operations or chief‑of‑staff exposure.
