Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Field Service Technician to support fuel cell products in lift trucks, performing preventive maintenance and resolving breakdowns at a customer site. The role includes installation, servicing, reporting issues, parts ordering, and maintaining fuel cells with strong safety and communication skills.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with electrical coursework.
• 3+ years of direct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Valid driver license, clean driving record, and ability to safely operate a vehicle.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain fleet at a location.
• Field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide on-call and emergency support to customers as required.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service as needed.
• May troubleshoot high-pressure hydrogen storage, 480VAC, and related systems.
• Communicate with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers on aftermarket support.
• Provide feedback to regional service reps on fuel cell performance and issues.
• Complete incident reports, service logs, inventory and site documentation.
• Enforce safety procedures in the field or at customer sites.
• Travel as required for business needs and drive safely.
• Represent Plug Power professionally at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
