Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an on-site Project Leader to manage fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom system deployments. You will design hardware, program software, coordinate installation, and ensure project profitability with strong customer focus.

Responsibilities include coordinating resources, mentoring technicians, and ensuring compliance with safety and warranty procedures. A technical background and certifications are required for success.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience with installation and service of fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion and intercom systems.
• Knowledge of electricity and electronics; ability to troubleshoot systems and perform repairs.
• Active certifications in access control/CCTV/intrusion/intercom.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service attitude and communication skills.
• Able to lift/move equipment up to 40 pounds.
• High school/trade school or 2-year technical associate degree required.
• Proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with IT network systems.
• Skilled with hand/power tools and test equipment (multimeters, scopes, analyzers).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to read complex plans.
• Ability to pass background, drug screen, and credit checks.
• Preferred: NICET or DCJS certification; knowledge of project accounting/costing.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site projects to plan, execute, and complete fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, and intercom systems.
• Design hardware, program software, and coordinate installation with customers and subcontractors.
• Manage project costs, billings, and collections; pursue change orders as needed.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and warranty execution; maintain client communications throughout.
• Mentor technicians, installers, and designers; provide technical guidance to subcontractors.
• Provide monthly revenue, cost, and gross margin forecasts to management.
• Develop project plans, coordinate resources, and provide owner/operator training and manuals.
