Job summary
Motorola Solutions is seeking a Patch Manager Field Systems Technologist for Navy ELMR to perform patching operations across Windows, RHEL, and database systems at a U.S. military base.
This 100% on-site role requires DoD clearance and US citizenship, with up to 25% travel to support enterprise maintenance and regional patching. You will implement security updates, troubleshoot issues in a high-stress environment, and collaborate with Master Site FSTs, Engineering teams, and support staff to
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Associate Degree plus 4 years of specialized IT experience or High School Diploma/GED plus 8 years of specialized IT experience.
- Experience in IT systems administration and TCP/IP network administration.
- Possess or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of employment.
- Possess or be able to obtain ETA CETa certification within 6 months of employment.
- Experience with Windows (10/Server), RHEL, and Active Directory administration.
- Hands-on experience with VMware and KVM virtualization and with enterprise hardware (HP ProLiant, iLO, Dell PowerEdge).
- Proficient TCP/IP networking knowledge and familiarity with PuTTY, WinSCP, Remote Desktop.
Responsibilities
- Implement system and security patch updates for the enterprise ASTRO environment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot patching-related issues in a high-stress environment.
- Maintain clear verbal and written communication with teams and leadership.
- Support Master Site FSTs and Engineering on daily maintenance across sites.
- Travel up to 25% annually to support patching efforts.
- Obtain and maintain required DoD security clearance as needed.
