Job summary

WSI Technologies seeks a hands-on Field Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot systems at customer sites in Michigan. You will work independently in the field to keep critical public safety, government, and enterprise systems running reliably.

Travel up to 80–85% is required; a company vehicle, gas card, and stipend are provided. The role emphasizes on-site deployments, documentation, and strong customer service while remaining hands-on with hardware and networks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience supporting Windows desktop/server environments.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network connectivity.
• Experience with ITSM or ticketing tools such as ServiceNow.
• Ability to travel up to 80–85% and pass government site clearance/background checks.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure WSI systems on-site, including servers, applications, and recording infrastructure.
• Rack, cable, configure, and test hardware in data center and telecom environments.
• Configure Windows desktop and server operating systems, including virtual environments.
• Test completed installations and ensure they meet customer requirements before sign-off.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
• Respond to customer support requests within SLA expectations.
• Manage service tickets and field visits independently.
• Escalate complex issues when needed.
• Act as primary technical contact during on-site visits.
• Document installations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
