Job summary

Insight Global seeks an experienced Structural Special Inspector for on-site field QA/QC on large-scale, mission-critical builds. You will inspect concrete, steel, masonry, and bolting per approved plans and IBC Chapter 17 with field reporting and coordination with engineers and contractors.

The role is 100% on-site, project-based with travel; candidates must hold ICC/NICET/ASNT/ACI/AWS certifications or active equivalents and be comfortable in active construction environments.

Qualifications

• Certification in at least one ICC Special Inspector area is required.
• Active certification numbers and expiration dates must be listed on resume.
• Experience performing on-site QA/QC on large-scale projects is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform special inspections of structural elements: concrete, structural steel, masonry, bolting, welding, anchors, and post-installed fasteners.
• Verify field work conforms to documents, specs, and codes (IBC 17, AWS D1.1, ACI, AISC).
• Witness and document concrete placement, rebar, welding, bolt tensioning.
• Conduct materials sampling and field testing as assigned.
• Write daily inspection reports and NCRs; track deficiencies to closure.
• Coordinate with engineer of record, GC, and QA/QC manager.
• Maintain calibration records and follow site safety requirements.
