Job summary

JLL is seeking an Operating Engineer for on-site maintenance in Plano, TX. You will support operation, inspection and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment, and contribute to safe, reliable building operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, CMMS usage, and collaboration with facilities teams. Candidates should have 3+ years in related fields and a valid driver license; EPA certification is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance).
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders up to 30 feet.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment and general maintenance.
• Maintain CMMS daily and handle tenant service requests.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Support on-call or emergency response situations.
• Troubleshoot building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls.
• Comply with all safety procedures and participate in ongoing training.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
