Job summary

Sagent is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site customer support, calibrations, and maintenance across the designated territory. You will handle installations, troubleshooting, and repairs for grocery store equipment, maintaining strong customer relations and compliance with safety standards.

The role requires independent field work, a valid driving record, and readiness for occasional travel. Excellent problem-solving and mechanical skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technical discipline preferred.
• Experience installing, repairing, or servicing processor-controlled equipment.
• 5 years of relevant experience in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, IT, or electromechanical repair preferred.
• 1–3 years electro-mechanical repair experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site repairs, installations, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on customer equipment in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, and PC-based issues, including module-level diagnostics.
• Configure, network, and troubleshoot wired and wireless devices.
• Communicate findings and next steps clearly to customers.
• Travel within the assigned service territory; participate in a rotational on-call schedule.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of service parts and complete annual counts with <5% variance.
• Document all service activity and close work orders promptly.
• Maintain company-issued equipment (tools, laptop, phone, test devices).
• Adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements including Weights & Measures procedures.
