Job summary

Alpha School is hiring for an Early Elementary Teacher (Guide) on a full-time, on-site basis at a Greenwich campus. You will coach K-3 students through app-based core learning, run targeted literacy sessions, and lead daily routines from morning launch to reading interventions.

The role emphasizes diagnosing gaps, guiding students through the literacy program, and maintaining daily learning goals. Relocation support is available for on-site work in the US.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years working directly with children ages 4-9 (teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs)
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, RGR, or similar) or a master's in reading/literacy
• Bachelor's degree; teaching certificate not required

Responsibilities

• Get every K-3 student to daily learning goals and close reading gaps
• Lead morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities
• Run targeted structured-literacy sessions with two to four students
• Diagnose decoding gaps from running records and fluency probes
• Drive weekly app goals with school currency, leaderboards, and gamification
• Remain with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions
