Alpha School is hiring for a full-time, on-site Early Elementary Teacher at a Chicago campus. You will guide K-3 students through app-based core learning, run focused literacy sessions, and participate in morning launches and campus routines to foster reading achievement.

The role emphasizes diagnostic teaching, meeting each child where they are, and recording weekly progress for families. A relocation option is available and a state-appropriate on-site position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years directly with children ages 4–9 (teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs).
• At least 2 years teaching reading in grades K-3 within the last 5 years.
• Completed structured-literacy training (LETRS, IMSE, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Fundations, UFLI, CERI, Neuhaus, SIPPS, Really Great Reading, or similar) or a master's in reading or literacy.
• Bachelor's degree in any subject; teaching certificate not required.

Responsibilities

• Coaching students through app-based core learning and sustaining daily goals.
• Running targeted structured-literacy sessions with small groups diagnosing gaps and delivering a designed sequence.
• Leading morning launch, life-skills workshops, and check-chart activities for six-year-olds.
• Driving students to weekly app goals with currency, leaderboards, and gamification.
• Staying with students through lunch, recess, closing, and reading interventions with a plan for each child.
