Job summary

DOC SERVICES is seeking Electromechanical Field Service Technicians to perform preventive and reactive maintenance on electromechanical equipment in big box retail locations. You will travel from home, respond to service calls, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and document all work using handheld devices.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in equipment repair, strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, ability to read schematics, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum two years of equipment repair experience or a combination of training and experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; ability to read schematics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and call management software.
• Understand safety regulations related to equipment repair.
• Excellent organization, self-motivation and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record with proof of insurance.
• Background check required; professional appearance and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform billable work by maintaining, troubleshooting and servicing equipment.
• Abide by OSHA, customer and DOC safety regulations including PPE requirements.
• Respond to all service calls within customer expectations and DOC requirements.
• Provide all documentation as required by customer and DOC through handheld device.
• Perform cost effective service and repairs while maintaining quality.
• Seek technical support on site timely to avoid delays.
• Be reachable by phone for reactive service repairs unless otherwise approved.
• Order the correct parts needed for the repair.
• Maintain inventory on hand and organize for quick part retrieval.
• Arrive to job on-time and prepared with tools, instructions, parts and safety equipment.
• Travel to and from customer locations.
• Perform inventory reconciliation as scheduled.
• Return parts as requested in a timely fashion.
• As directed by DSM, evaluate preventable service problems and educate or make recommendations to customers.
• Other duties as needed.
