Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a Design Engineer responsible for the design, development and documentation of low to medium voltage switchgear and power distribution systems. You will ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role calls for strong analytical and communication skills, a proven track record in electrical design, and the ability to work on-site in Cedar City, UT with potential 10% overtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with emphasis in electrical disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in switchgear or power distribution design.
• Experience with AutoCAD, E-Plan and Microsoft software; familiarity with low/medium voltage systems up to 38kV.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, and documentation of low to medium voltage switchgear and power distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE and customer requirements.
• Create electrical drawings: general arrangements, elevations, one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.
• Select and specify components such as breakers, relays, CTs, PTs, bus bars and protective devices.
• Produce and revise CAD drawings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
