Job summary

McM Engineering II, Inc. in Utah is seeking a Design Engineer to design, develop, and document low to medium voltage switchgear and power distribution systems.

You will ensure compliance with IEC, ANSI, UL, and IEEE standards, create drawings with AutoCAD and E-Plan, review customer specifications, and collaborate with mechanical, project management, and manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle. This on-site role requires attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in switchgear or power distribution design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and E-Plan.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical switchgear systems including general requirements, elevation and plan views, one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.
• Select electrical components such as breakers, relays, CTs, PTs, bus bars, and protective devices.
• Create and revise engineering drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, E-Plan).
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE standards.
• Collaborate with mechanical, project management, and manufacturing teams.
• Review customer specifications and provide input during submittal, production, and post-shipment phases.
