Job summary

GLOVIS America Inc. is seeking an Assistant Manager, EHS to develop, implement and monitor safety programs. The role conducts inspections, manages training, investigates incidents, and ensures regulatory compliance while fostering a proactive safety culture.

Responsibilities include risk assessment, incident reporting, training delivery, and maintaining OSHA logs and SOPs. The position supports EHS operations across multiple sites, with postings highlighting Montgomery, AL operations.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Valid State Issued Driver's License.
• 6+ years of experience in EHS or related field.
• Experience with health, environmental and safety regulations and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections of workplaces, equipment, and processes.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs and awareness materials (PPE).
• Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training; report safety metrics.
• Ensure compliance with health, environmental, and safety regulations and legal requirements.
• Communicate safety guidelines to employees and report issues to management.
• Provide guidance on safety matters to staff and management.
• Oversee hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal (RCRA compliance).
• Analyze safety data and incidents to identify improvements and implement changes.
• Maintain safety documentation, OSHA logs, SOPs, JSAs, and risk assessments.
• Assist in developing emergency response procedures.
• Support EHS Operations at Shreveport and Tampa sites.
