Job summary

Nokia is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to support EHS operations across its California manufacturing sites in Sunnyvale and San Jose. The role requires on-site work five days per week and collaboration with site leadership, contractors, and regulators to maintain a safe and compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Experience in EHS roles in Telecommunications, semiconductor processing facility or similar operations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive safety improvements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Collaborative team player with the ability to lead initiatives and work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EHS standards across the Sunnyvale and San Jose facilities, ensuring alignment and consistency in practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA/Cal-OSHA and regulatory requirements.
• Identify risks, implement safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement in environmental and workplace safety performance.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations and perform root cause analysis.
• Perform routine site safety inspections and monitor hazardous chemical usage.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
