Job summary

ERM in Sunnyvale, California, is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant to join our Performance & Assurance team. This field-based role involves a minimum of three on-site days per week and a fixed-term, full-time schedule of 40 hours for four months, with renewal possible.

The ideal candidate has Cal/OSHA implementation experience, lab safety familiarity, and a background in evaluating hazardous materials, waste management, and EHS auditing.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of applicable EHS experience with emphasis on health and safety.
• Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording detailed technical data and reports.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct team members to manage tasks for on-time delivery and quality.
• Perform compliance audits for health, safety, and environmental regulations and client standards.
• Provide training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments to improve safety performance.
• Identify follow-up corrective actions to close audit findings.
• Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance and management system projects across lab safety, chemical safety, machine guarding, laser safety, robotics safety, hazardous materials, and waste.
• Develop and implement EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
• Manage tasks within scope/budget/schedule and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Build client relationships and nurture repeat business; support ERM Partners and Project Managers.
• Collaborate with other ERM staff to deliver projects.
