Job summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Professional to oversee environmental, health, and safety compliance across regional job sites.

You will conduct audits, ensure reporting and corrective actions for incidents, and promote safety training and leadership within teams. The role requires OSHA 30, ability to work outdoors in varying conditions, strong communication skills, and the capacity to read and interpret regulations while coordinating with business units to sustain

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene or equivalent.
• Minimum experience as a practicing health and safety professional in manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, or related industries.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Outstanding communication skills including written, oral, interpersonal and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide environmental, health, and safety expertise to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Perform periodic safety and compliance audits for job site locations within the region.
• Ensure proper reporting, investigation, and corrective action for incidents involving MISTRAS operations.
• Promote supervision, management, motivation and training of all MISTRAS team members in areas of personal safety, health, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with MISTRAS’s safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Complete periodic and one-time safety and compliance report in a timely fashion.
• Conduct job site audits to ensure compliance with the MISTRAS Safety Program and detect existing or potential incidents and health hazards.
• Coordinate training programs to increase proficiency in safe practices.
• Provide training, or schedule training by others, and provide updates of the training requirements as they change.
• Assure attendance is documented per OSHA and regulatory requirements.
• Address reporting and recordkeeping requirements of OSHA, client and other regulatory matters.
• Create and coordinate efforts to reduce incident frequency and severity.
• Monitor monthly safety meetings and training at locations.
• Compile reports addressing effectiveness of local meetings.
• Work with business units to ensure safe work activities across company policies.
• And other activities as directed by Local and Regional Managers.
