Job summary

Agile Defense seeks an Intermediate System Administrator in Huntsville, AL to support a DoD contract. You will install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers, manage AD/DNS/DHCP, and ensure secure operations with RMF and STIG compliance.

The position emphasizes virtualization, backup/recovery, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible), and cross-team collaboration to sustain a robust, compliant infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related STEM field; appropriate experience can substitute.
• Minimum five years of relevant systems administration experience.
• Ability to obtain Secret clearance to start.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows Server 2019/2022, RHEL, Ubuntu) and enterprise workstations.
• Administer AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs to support enterprise infrastructure.
• Maintain VMware ESXi environments and vCenter Server to maximize uptime.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery, and system replication plans; test regularly.
• Apply RMF and DISA STIGs for NIST SP 800-53 compliance.
• Develop automation scripts with PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible for recurring tasks.
• Provide Tier II/III support; draft SOPs and system diagrams (Visio).
