Job summary

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, seeks a skilled IT Specialist (Desktop System Administrator) to support the U.S. Army DEVCOM GVSC Information Management Office in Warren, MI. The role combines desktop system administration, customer advocacy, and hands-on IT support to ensure high availability and secure operations.

You will manage Windows 11 environments, apply security guidelines, and assist with conference room AV support in a demanding government setting.

Qualifications

• 0 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in desktop support, system administration, and customer support in enterprise Windows.
• Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance at hire and eligibility for DoW IT Level I access.
• 8140 Cyber Workforce Certification: active DoW 8140 baseline certification or related degree.
• Current Modern Desktop Administrator certification on Windows 11.
• In-depth understanding of Windows OS internals, DNS, DHCP, AD and GPOs.
• Knowledge of DoW cybersecurity policies, STIGs, and vulnerability remediation.
• Ability to translate complex IT concepts for non-technical users and brief leadership.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, deploy, test, maintain, and upgrade Windows workstations and software.
• Provide direct touch labor for desktops, laptops, servers, and peripherals.
• Maintain CSCB configurations and IT operation policies.
• Monitor logs and provide daily summary reports on findings.
• Apply IAVA patches and conduct post-patch testing.
• Support RMF tasks, certification and accreditation efforts.
