Job summary

Seattle Colleges is seeking an Employment Specialist (Full Time/temporary) for the Mainstay Department. This on-site role involves job coaching, case management, and positive behavior supports for clients with disabilities across multiple Seattle-area sites. Travel is required, and the position is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with a typical 8:00 a.m.

to 5:00 p.m. schedule. The role is temporary for about 18 months, with benefits typical of Seattle Colleges and WFSE bargaining guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and two or more years full-time work experience with individuals who have disabilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly, solve problems, and demonstrate excellent writing skills.
• Per Mainstay contract accreditation standards all employees are required to obtain certification in CPR/First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Emergency Preparedness, and Positive Behavioral Support.

Responsibilities

• Implementing person-centered employment plans with clients based on their skills, goals, abilities, and interests.
• Delivering job training and follow-along coaching as outlined in the employment plan, including one-to-one cues and prompts.
• Travel to various worksites within King County using a personal vehicle.
• Help clients understand and navigate referral sources (DVR, DDCS, SPS) for access to Mainstay services.
• Collaborate with Mainstay Employment Team to provide orientation, training, and coaching to clients.
• Maintain communication with the Employment Team and act as primary contact for the team.
