Description

Technical specialist and regular customer support contact to diagnose and complete less complex repairs to Cummins products at a single customer’s site.

We are looking for a talented On-Site Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Avondale, AZ.

This Resident Technician role is for the Transit Authority. The technician will report daily at the customer site as the base location.

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Engage in ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Complete complex internal engine repairs
• Perform engine overhauls unassisted
• Have a detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
• Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Qualifications

This role requires a strong background in natural gas engines, good communication and computer skills. The position is subject to DOT regulations, including drug testing.

Education, licenses, and certifications preferred include:

• Apprentice Certified Power Generation or Engine Technician
• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
• Current relevant electrical certification (optional)
• Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

• Basic level field service work experience
• Intermediate knowledge of power generation or engine products
• High Voltage/Low Voltage experience (optional)
• Customer service experience
