Job summary

Akima Infrastructure Protection (AIP) in Brownsville, TX is seeking a Detention Supervisor to lead on-site operations at the detention facility under ICE contracts.

You will oversee staffing, enforce ACA and ICE standards, train Detention Officers, document incidents, and coordinate with supervisors to maintain safety, efficiency and compliance 24/7. The role requires strong leadership and a focus on policy adherence.

Qualifications

• US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
• Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid state driver's license.
• The incumbent must have a minimum of one year of experience as a detention officer and two years of field supervision experience.
• Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a detention services center.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site point of contact for ICE contract concerns.
• Address concerns that may be out of compliance.
• Provide supervision and on-the-job training through the chain of command.
• Ensure consistent service delivery across shifts and locations; correct problems as needed.
• Oversee staffing and call-offs; manage post assignments effectively.
• Brief Lieutenants and Detention Officers on post orders and emergencies.
• Identify training needs to improve officer performance and skills.
• Report emergencies to COR, ICE and management per contract.
