Job summary

Axiom Technologies is seeking a capable Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-demand, on-site IT support for enterprise clients in Portland, OR. This independent contractor/part-time role requires responding to service requests, resolving issues with Windows desktops and peripherals, and ensuring secure, timely support at the client location.

Start date is immediate. The ideal candidate can work independently, communicate effectively, and handle LAN troubleshooting as part of end-user IT

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
Experience in hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
Basic understanding of networking (LAN connectivity, switches, routers).
Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently in on-site support environments.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site desktop and IT support for end users at the client location.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.
Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.
