Job summary
BGIS is recruiting a Senior Data Center Technician to support IT and Network Infrastructure inside the raised floor of the Phoenix Data Center. Responsibilities include installation, cabling, power-up, and on-site service for clients, with after-hours dispatches and escalation support as needed.
The role requires 3+ years in IT/networking within data centers, and a minimum of one technical certification or equivalent experience; candidates should be able to work 7x24x365 shifts and travel
Qualifications
- Three+ years of IT and networking experience in a Data Center or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 technical certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Colocation and Managed Services environments.
- Strong knowledge of Data Center architectures, power, cooling, cabling and security standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio and AutoCAD.
Responsibilities
- Respond to scheduled and after-hours dispatches to Data Center for service calls.
- Complete physical installation and power-up (Rack & Stack) of servers, peripherals and network equipment.
- Install, dress and connect fiber and copper cables.
- Provide status reports and power cycling services as needed.
- Act as escalation point for advanced troubleshooting issues.
- Coordinate with customers to review installation requirements based on space, power, and cooling.
