Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Director of Data Center On-Site Operations to lead global on-site data center operations, standardize processes, and drive scalable growth across existing and new sites. You will build operating models, leadership structures, and performance systems, ensure safety and reliability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet ambitious expansion and SLA targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years in data center operations or infrastructure operations.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of senior leadership experience in a large enterprise, cloud, or colocation environment.
• Experience with GPU, AI infrastructure, high-density compute, liquid cooling is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides senior leadership for data center on-site operations across DigitalOcean’s global footprint.
• Leads scalable operating model: staffing, escalation, maintenance, change management, incident response, inventory control, deployment support.
• Drives operational excellence by standardizing best practices and ensuring policy adoption across locations.
• Oversees 24x7 data center support ensuring availability, safety, quality, and service delivery.
• Develops staffing models and governance for rapid site growth and complex operations.
