Job summary

DigitalOcean is seeking a Senior Data Center Power Engineer to lead design, deployment, and monitoring of next-generation power infrastructure at scale. You will drive electrical distribution strategies, coordinate with colo facilities, and evangelize efficiency across the Infra organization.

Reporting to the Director of Datacenter Engineering, you will shape standards for high-density environments and develop tools to aggregate and alert on electrical data, ensuring reliable operations as

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and operating power infrastructure at scale.
• Knowledge of medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and rack power.
• Understanding of power quality and monitoring in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for power-related engineering topics at DigitalOcean.
• Act as SME for cooling-related topics.
• Develop standards for datacenter facilities.
• Coordinate power distribution design with vendors and colo facilities.
• Develop monitoring and alerting for electrical systems.
• Work with Infra teams to ensure facility readiness for new solutions.
